NATIONAL WOMEN'S HALL OF FAME MOVES FORWARD WITH SENECA KNITTING MILL REHABILITATION

SENECA FALLS, NY, June 3, 2009 – The National Women’s Hall of Fame and Seneca Falls Savings Bank are proud to announce the next step in the Hall’s rehabilitation of the historic Seneca Knitting Mill into the National Women’s Hall of Fame Center for Great Women.

The Hall’s Executive Director, Christine Moulton, and the Bank’s President/CEO, Menzo Case, announce the sale of the Hall’s current home at 76 Fall Street to Seneca Falls Savings Bank. “At a critical juncture in the rehabilitation of the Seneca Knitting Mill as the Hall’s future home, this opportunity presents additional capital to perpetuate the project’s momentum. We are delighted that our long-standing partnership with Seneca Falls Savings Bank will continue in a new and exciting capacity. Seneca Falls Savings Bank continues to be a generous and critically important friend to Seneca County businesses and economic development initiatives,” said Moulton.

As part of the agreement with SFSB, the Hall will continue to be housed at 76 Fall Street until the Mill rehabilitation is complete. “We could not resist the opportunity to purchase the place where we first began,” noted Menzo Case, Seneca Falls Savings Bank’s President. “In time, we hope to reopen an office at the location.”

“This is a fantastic opportunity for the Hall, and it moves us closer to matching and ultimately realizing the $581,000 already committed through various state and federal funding sources. We are also pleased that the Bank will once again own its original and storied home on Fall Street,” said the Hall’s President, Beth Quillen Thomas.
